2. The Office of Financial Aid will increase awareness about the new educational initiative, B-On-Time Loan Program.

First Means of Assessment for Objective Identified Above:
2a. Means of Unit Assessment & Criteria for Success:
Eighty percent (80%) of respondents to the 2004 Office of Financial Aid Survey will indicate “Yes” to the question, “Are you aware of the new state program ‘B-On-Time Loan Program’?”

2a. Summary of Assessment Data Collected:
Based on the survey results, 44.4% of the respondents indicated “Yes” on the question “Are you aware of the new state program ‘B-On-Time Loan Program’?”

2a. Use of Results to Improve Unit Services:
As shown above, the results indicate that the criteria were not met; however, our office has been aggressively distributing information on this new program to increase the awareness.  The new B-On-Time Loan Program was introduced to us during the Spring 2004 semester, which gave us a limited amount of time to make our students and parents aware of this new initiative.  Our office generated letters, flyers, and e-mails that were sent to students that met the requirements for the program.  We also included this information on our web site.  For the Spring 2004 semester, we had a total of 15 inquiries from students to apply for this loan.  As of today, we have over 200 inquiries for the 2004-2005 academic year.  Efforts continue for the distribution of information to ensure that all students who meet the requirements for this program are aware of its existence.
