Intended Administrative Objectives:

1. Students completing the Early Childhood Education Masters Program will demonstrate the ability to review and critique professional literature orally.

2. Students completing the Early Childhood Education Masters Program will demonstrate the ability to review and critique professional literature in writing.

3. Students completing the Early Childhood Education Masters Program will demonstrate leadership in early childhood settings.

1. Students completing the Early Childhood Education Masters Program will demonstrate the ability to review and critique professional literature orally.

First Means of Assessment for Outcome Identified Above:
1a. Means of Program Assessment & Criteria for Success:
Students will demonstrate the ability to review and critique professional literature in early childhood education in their oral defense of thesis or professional paper as determined by the graduate committee.

1a. Summary of Assessment Data Collected:
During Spring 2003, program faculty revamped all means of assessment for implementation during Fall 2003.

1a. Use of Results to Improve Instructional Program:
Because of Fall 2003 implementation, program faculty members made no recommendations for alterations in degree program.

A sample of students will complete a self-report survey on the leadership activities they have engaged in after graduation (for example:  mentoring, participation in professional organizations, staff development, etc.)
