Happy New Year!
This semester will be an exciting one! This Friday, January 16, the STAR Program will be holding a mandatory orientation meeting. Students attending the orientation will receive the following:
« $100.00 book stipend for Spring 2004 (TAMIU
Bookstore)
« Door prizes
« Lunch
The STAR Program has initiated this orientation program in order to accomplish
several goals:
« Meet all STAR Program staff & STAR Club officers
« Meet new and continuing STAR Program students
« Present a schedule of activities for 2004
« Review STAR Program services and policies
« Update student information
The STAR Club would like to thank
everyone who volunteered to donate blood this past Halloween. A total of 40
people donated their blood.

The Texas Association of Student Special Services Programs (TASSSP) held its Annual Student Leadership Conference at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Seven STAR Program students attended the conference from July 31 to August 3. The following students received scholarships
