Consultants are individuals who are hired for a specific task but are not involved with the project on a regular, consistent basis. Faculty from other departments whose expertise is needed on a one-time basis or within a tightly defined period of the project may be considered consultants. As long as his or her earnings do not exceed original contractual agreement with the University for the agreed period.
