This month’s featured alumnus . . . Henry Flores '72 Henry Flores graduated from Texas A&I Laredo in 1972 with a BBA. He responded to an ad from an international company seeking management trainees and was soon hired as a supervisor with Nielsen Clearing House in Nuevo Laredo. While working at this maquila he began taking classes for his MBA which he earned from Laredo State University in 1977. He ran for public office in 1978 and was elected County Clerk for Webb County, Laredo, Texas and subsequently re-elected, serving successfully until his retirement in 2002. He is now an adjunct instructor in continuing education at Laredo Community College. Flores was recently elected as TAMIU Alumni Association president for 2005-06. He also serves with the Public Networking Advisory Committee of the Border Region MHMR Community Center and with the Executive Program Council of the Texas Extension Cooperative in Webb County. Since January he has been a member and currently serves as Club Service Avenue Chair of the Laredo Daybreak Rotary Club. "It is awesome how great Texas A&M International University is becoming and I'm thrilled and inspired being involved in my own humble way," Flores says. |
