Program Registration Underway at TAMIU
Businesses interested in learning to develop a well-rounded growth strategy in international commerce should make plans to attend a series of training seminars offered by Texas A&M International University and the South Texas Border International Trade Center at the University of Texas at San Antonio. College Program Readies 10th
Graders this Summer at TAMIU
Give your 10th grader the opportunity to go away to college this summer with Texas A&M International University’s College Readiness Program. The application deadline is May 19.
“We are starting the new program as part of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Texas Success Initiative. This project will include 500 10th graders attending Laredo Independent School District and United ISD whose TAKS scores for English Language Arts and Math are between 2100 and 2199. The goal of the Project is to increase the number of students scoring 2200 or above as a College Readiness Index (CRI),” explained Dr. Julio F. Madrigal, professor and director of special programs. TAMIU PKP Chapter 296 Initiates 48
In ceremonies held last week, Texas A&M International University’s Phi Kappa Phi Chapter 296 initiated 48 new members and provided academic achievement awards (pdf) to 33 freshmen and sophomore students. TAMIU Receives $3331,126 in Federal
Funding for Title VI Development Projects
Combined federal funding awards of $331,126 in support of Texas A&M International University student and faculty development initiatives were announced by Congressman Henry Cuellar '82 in ceremonies held Monday in the University’s Student Center. The Title VI grants from the US Department of Education are two years in duration.
Congressman Cuellar, a TAMIU alum, noted that the University continues to make strides in its programming for student growth and development.

The Harvard World Model U. N. Conference 2006

Join us on Wednesday, 3 May from 2:30 till 3:00 p.m. in WHTC 104 to hear and see the experiences of TAMIU students while attending the Harvard World Model United Nations Conference (WorldMUN) in Beijing, China. A group of 7 student representatives traveled recently to China to participate in discussion, exploration, and resolution of global issues.
