Smithsonian Luncheon

TAMIU prepares for the arrival of the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition

On Tuesday, January 30th Texas A&M International University honored 45 alumni, who will be part of the Smithsonian Our Journeys/Our Stories: Portraits of Latino Achievement Exhibition.  For their extraordinary contributions to our community, the stories of the 45 TAMIU alumni Latino role models, their personal life , and  career journeys will be exhibited as Picture Our Lives - Portraits of TAMIU Alumni Achievements, from March 1st through May 12, 2007 in the Student Center Rotunda.  Portraits of the honorees will accompany a biographical narrative which celebrates their success and Latino heritage. Hosted in the Student Center, the hub of student activity, the students will be able to learn about the journeys of TAMIU alumni and “see their future.”

The local exhibit will complement TAMIU hosting the Smithsonian Latino Center’s traveling exhibit, Our Journeys/Our Stories: Portraits of Latino Achievement, which is supported by the Ford Motor Company Fund.  TAMIU will also present a number of activities and events which will focus on Latino achievements such as public school tours of the exhibition, class room projects, the Voices in the Monte Writers Series Lecture and workshop, and the Biliterate/Bicultural Fifth Annual Conference.

All4TAMIU Grow with Us Phonathon

Once again the Office of Alumni Relations phonathon is here!

Through the Grow with Us Phonathon,
we hope to achieve and increase alumni participation.

This phonathon would not be possible without our student callers.

Please answer their call! It provides them with a great opportunity to meet and network with TAMIU alumni.
Why is your support so important?Flower-grow picture

Public dollars to support higher education are continuing to shrink while the number of people seeking affordable, quality, higher education continues to grow.  Gifts from alumni and others help bridge the gap.

Please join in – It is not too late to get your contribution!

We really need your help!

The seed you plant today will provide them with a beautiful tomorrow,

Please consider a gift to TAMIU scholarships
