‘Intelligent

Go Beyond
Finance Major
A small group of TAMIU
students is learning to
research and make decisions
about corporate investments
through an innovative student
organization, “The
Intelligent Investor Group.”
Dr. Andrés Rivas-Chávez, A.
R. Sanchez School of Business
associate professor of finance
and sponsor, said students
wanted to learn more about
finance and founded the
organization in 2010.
It’s open to all students
interested in learning how to
use the School’s Bloomberg
database system, which accesses
7.3 million world securities.
Becoming Bloomberg
database proficient gives
students a competitive edge in
the marketplace.
The organization hopes to
soon find corporate sponsors
that would permit students
to manage part of their own
investment funds.
