

Welcome to the Binational Center!
Mission Statement
The Binational Center’s mission is to enhance relationships between the United States and other countries and to improve the quality of life in the South Texas border region through research, education, leadership, and public service.
Selected Activities of the Binational Center:
- Designing educational venues that will contribute to the successful development of international relationships between practitioners and government.
- Creating communication streams between American and Mexican universities and other organizations, as well as highlighting public service with specific programs geared to train or enhance the management of local and international non-profit organizations.
- Enhancing the development of binational community service programs.
- Training, developing, and educating the next generation of leaders through diverse campus resources.

Providing grant writing resources for non-profit organizations through our regional Cooperating Collections Library, which is an affiliate of the national Foundation Center. The Collection is comprised of an extensive database and literature containing information on potential funding from foundations, corporations, the public sector and other sources for nonprofit organizations and individuals. Collection materials also include guides on grantseeking, proposal writing, and other means of fund raising among other topics.
The Binational Center is a member of the World Affairs Councils of America, the largest national non-partisan network of almost 100 councils in over 40 states that are dedicated to educating and engaging Americans on the critical global issues of our times.
