John Kilburn, Ph.D.
Dr. John Kilburn is the Associate Dean of Research and Professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Texas A&M International University (Laredo, Texas). He received his B.A. in Sociology from the University of New Orleans and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from Louisiana State University. Dr. Kilburn has authored/co-authored more than 60 scholarly works and his book, Salvation City: Halfway House Stories (co-authored with S.E. Costanza) has received international attention in the field of community corrections. His work focuses on topics such as social justice, community development, and violence. He has been funded by several different agencies such as the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the Corporation for National Service.
