Fairs

The Office of Career Services organizes several fairs throughout the academic school year for students, alumni and the surrounding community.

The Government & Social Services Job Fair, held in the Fall, provides opportunities to those interested in the government/social services sector.

The Business & Hospitality Career Fair, held in the Spring, provides opportunities to those interested in the business/hospitality services sector.

The Graduate & Professional School Fair, held in the Fall, facilitates contact between students and graduate/professional schools.

The School Districts Career Fair, held in the Spring, provides opportunities to those interested in the education fields from educators to administration and support staff.

The Best Teaching Practices (Teacher Fair), held in the Fall and Spring, brings students and school district representatives together for networking and employment opportunities.    

The Seasonal Job Fair, held in the Fall, brings local employers from retail services industries to promote employment and internship opportunities for TAMIU students and the Laredo community.

Guest Speaker Presentations

Recruiters may have the opportunity to present to classes with topics ranging from careers and internship opportunities, to interviewing techniques and business etiquette. Contact our office for more info.

Workshops

Throughout the semester, these group sessions aid students in learning the skills of writing cover letters and résumés, and preparation for an interview. Special topics and other career-related issues are presented regularly to student groups, classes, or upon special request.
