Jazz Ensemble (upper division)
One semester hour

This course intends to develop the student’s musical skills in the Jazz idiom, beginning at its roots and traveling thru the Big Band’s evolution to present day. At semester’s end, the student should have a clearer picture in the scope of improvisation, and the development of a personal Jazz sound. Sight-reading, doubling, and ensemble playing should also become a part of the student’s musical strengths. Course may be repeated for credit. Lab Fee: $20.00
