EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
 
1. Improve the productivity and resource utilization of both profit and not-for-profit organizations in     Laredo and in the region served by this university;
2. Fill a need in the industrial sectors of the community for professionally trained individuals who have     the specialized knowledge provided by their study of international logistics;
3. Combine the student’s interests in international transportation with their interests in applying computerized management information systems and electronic data interchange to address international business logistics problems; prepare students for an ever changing technological, commercial and institutional environment in the fields of international transportation, warehousing  and purchasing;
4. Prepare students with the expertise to serve the community’s need for logistics efficiency improvement as the industrial sector becomes more internationalized and as the industrial sector (e.g., twin plant/maquiladora) grows.
