Selected Topics in Social Work.

Three semester hours.

This course is an elective. Subject matter will reflect current issues in social work and current social problems and may include topics such as violence in society, child abuse and neglect, juvenile delinquency, aging, forensic social work, legal issues in social work practice, substance abuse, welfare reform, and medical social work. This course may be repeated for credit when topics vary. Prerequisite: Junior or senior standing unless admitted to the social work major. May be taken by social work minors and non majors.
