WITH A MAJOR IN FITNESS AND SPORTS
WITH ALL LEVEL CERTIFICATION
Following is one suggested four-year degree plan.
Students are encouraged to see their advisor each semester for help
with program decisions and enrollment. Students are responsible for
reviewing the Program of Study Requirements.

Note: Students will be eligible to sit for the athletic training examination upon
successful completion of all degree requirements, EDFS 4302 Advanced Athletic
Training, EDFS 4303 Therapeutic Modalities, and an apprenticeship of a minimum of
1,800 hours based on the academic calendar and completed during at least five fall and/or
spring semesters. Hours in the classroom do not count toward apprenticeship hours. The
hours must be completed in college or university intercollegiate sports programs. A
maximum of 600 hours of the 1,800 hours may be accepted from an affiliated setting
based upon the recommendation of the university’s athletic trainer and the approval of
the department chair.

on availability of courses in a given semester.
