Special Education Law and Ethical Responsibilities

Three semester hours.

This course provides an overview of disability legislation with an emphasis on the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act, Sec. 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the American with Disabilities Act. The individual Education Plans and Family Service Plans will be examined in response to legislative procedural requirements, and ethical guidelines for substantive requirements will be addressed.
