ENGL 4337

A Survey of the American Novel

Three semester hours. (SP-Odd)

This course will focus on different movements in the development history of the American novel by studying novelists from Cooper, Melville, and Hawthorne through Steinbeck, Pynchon, and Cisneros. Prerequisite: Three hours sophomore literature or consent of instructor. May be taken for graduate credit.
