MGT-317 Disaster Management for Public Service
This course brings together those emergency management personnel
from within a jurisdiction who would be required to prevent, manage, or
respond to a natural, technological, or civil disaster affecting the
public services sector of a community. The course introduces the
natural, technological, and civil hazards to which public service
systems may be vulnerable. It covers the process of emergency response
from pre-incident preparation and emergency operations planning through
the response phase to post-incident recovery actions.
MGT-312 Senior Officials Workshop for All Hazards Prepardness
The Senior Officials Workshop provides a forum for local or
regional executives to share strategies and coordinate plans for
emergency preparedness and response. This Workshop is an efficient
process for discussing executive-level issues with leaders from the
agencies involved in all levels of the emergency management structure.
The expected outcome: Executive and administrative staff, responder
chiefs/ department heads and infrastructure and resource leaders sharing
a common perspective and an understanding of the challenges they will
face in times of crisis.
MGT-347- Incident Command Systerms Forms Review
This course focuses on the core functions, process and best
practices necessary to ensure effective and repeatable performance of
an emergency operations center at any level. The core functions and
processes are reviews and demonstrated via facilitated discussion and
classroom activities. The participants gain practical experience via a
series of interrelated activities and exercises supported by a state of
the art computer simulation system and are coached by instructors who
have extensive emergency operations and management experience.
PER-212 Operational Level Response to Hazmat/WMD Incidents
This course focuses on the unique personal protection
challenges that responders face during a weapons of mass destruction
(WMD)/terrorist incident or a hazardous materials incident. PER-212 is
based on NFPA 472 (2008) consensus standard operations-level core
competencies and personal protective equipment (PPE) mission specific
competency, as well as OSHA (29CFR 1910.120)and EPA (40CFR Part 311)
response regulations. PER-212 provides the knowledge and skills needed
to obtain certification through the National Professional Qualifications
System (NPQS/ProBoard) as an Operations-level responder.
AWR-136
Essentials of Community Cyber Security
This half-day training course places the issues of cyber
security in a community context and demonstrates how cyber events can
impact, prevent, and/or stop business operations, and emergency
responses. The course covers cyber threats, vulnerabilities and
countermeasures, explains how computer systems and networks are
vulnerable, and how this vulnerability affects the organization. (4
hours)

MGT-343 Disaster management for Water and Wastewater Utilities
This course is designed to provide training to water and
wastewater professionals on issues concerning preparing for, responding
to, and recovering from natural or man-made incidents affecting water
and/or wastewater facilities. The course introduces the various natural
and man-made (accidental or intentional) hazards to which water and
wastewater systems may be vulnerable and the potential effects the
hazards may induce. Legislation that serves to aid in the planning and
response to a natural or man-made incident is discussed, along with
measures that can mitigate threats to water and wastewater systems.
Participants are guided through portions of the Environmental Protection
Agency’s Response Protocol Toolbox to identify steps in the response
and recovery processes, and create a recovery plan.
