Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS)

The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) degree is an inverted degree program specifically designed to allow individuals who hold an Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences degree from an accredited institution with a major in a technical/vocational area the opportunity to obtain a baccalaureate degree without the significant loss of credits that normally occurs in pursuing a traditional degree. The degree program is designed to afford academic depth to individuals who possess recognized competency in an occupational or technical field.

Degree Requirements:

Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences

Thirty(30) hours of vocational/technical field courses will be used as a part of the lowest-level requirements at the freshman/sophomore level. In some instances individuals may be granted vocational/technical field credit for work experience. Do note, however, that this program is not intended as a teacher preparation degree.

For questions or comments regarding this degree program, either email Dr. Manganaro at lynne.manganaro@tamiu.edu or give us a call at 956-326-2464.
