Alternative Certification Program

What are the program requirements?

The basic candidate requirements for our Alternative Certification Program (ACP) are as follows:

  •     Must have a valid bachelors degree OR be within one semester of graduating, from an accredited institution of higher education
  •     Must have a minimum 2.75 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
  •     Must be eligible to work under a intern certificate
  •     Must not be currently enrolled in another certification program

What do I need to do before applying?

  • PACT
    • "A Pre-Admission Content Test (PACT) can be used to obtain admission into an Educator Preparation Program (EPP). Tests taken through the PACT route are the same tests used for certification. Taking PACT does not ensure admittance into a program."
    • For more information on PACT, click here.
    • All first-time teacher candidates must PACT.
