Our college is the fastest growing college within the University.   The COED offers a full comprehensive program for the educator preparation at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  The college is divided into three departments that serve the diverse needs for students entering the teaching profession and for school districts accessing the advanced educator preparation programs.  The Department of Curriculum and Instruction oversees the undergraduate teacher preparation program as well as offers graduate degrees in Reading and Curriculum & Instruction.  The Department of Special Populations offers graduate degrees as well as endorsements in Early Childhood, Bilingual Education, English as a Second Language (ESL), Special Education and Communication Disorders.  The Department of Professional Programs offers graduate degrees and certification for school counselors, school principals and school superintendents.

The College also offers two Doctoral Ph. D. degrees in collaboration with Texas A&M in Educational Administration and Curriculum & Instruction.  Additionally, degreed students considering teaching as a profession can avail themselves of our Alternative Teacher Certification Program.

We exist to serve the educational needs of our learning community. Tell us how we can assist you!
