Camps and Programs for Minors

Most Summer Camp Registrations Open March 1st @ 8AM. We will host an onsite registration in the Student Center Rotunda from 9AM -12PM.

Keep your child’s mind and body active through out the year with an array of special summer camps and programs at Texas A&M International University.
Camps vary in length from 4 days to 8 weeks and ages 4-17!

General Information

  • Minors must wear closed toe shoes with straps. Depending on camp or program, crocs or similar foot wear may not be acceptable.
  • On average, student ratios are 1:10 or 1:15 depending on activity of camp or program; contact Office of Continuing Education if you would like more information regarding a specific program.
  • Notification of Campus Closures for camps already in session will be communicated via Facebook and Twitter. Respective camp or program will communicate with students and parents. Facebook and Twitter will be used for general campus announcements. Stay connected.

The Dustdevil Elite Skills Volleyball Camp is designed to develop and enhance the volleyball skills of each athlete. The basic fundamentals skills of volleyball will be reviewed. Advanced skills as well as team strategy and tactics will also be taught.

Young girls graduate from playing dress up to design their own fashions by using the same design principles used by professionals. Principles including basic sketching techniques, coordinating colors for the best effect, mixing textures and patterns for scale and perception, and cultural fashion history will be applied to each girl’s individual style and portfolio. Designs come to life with beautifully patterned papers, ribbons, sequins, jewelry, and oodles of other embellishments. Collaborative “design team” Challenges make this hands-on, minds-on adventure into the world of design very exciting. No sewing in this class.

The Dustdevil skills camp is open to girls from ages 8-13 years old (3rd- 8th Grade) who want to improve their skills as basketball players. Develop self-esteem, confidence, and motivation to move forward in the reading experience. The literature of  “Story Time” enhances auditory and comprehension skills. The emergent literacy books of “Interactive Reading Time” address visual discrimination through the introduction of small, controlled vocabulary. “Games Time” provides kinesthetic activity while enhancing visual and auditory skills as related to sounds/symbol association, as well as the daily construction of manipulative take-home games. All sessions are both light hearted and meaningful. Participant Happiness built on daily measurable success is a priority with Kindergarten Jumpstart. We’ll read about The Farm! The Circus! The Zoo! Whether your child struggles in writing or loves it, they will enjoy this class! This class is designed for all levels of writing whether they are just learning how to make a sentence or write a short story. The scaffold instruction will make writing fun and not laborious as some writing instruction can be. Although grammar will be touched upon, the main focus is writing with voice in all genres from descriptive, narrative, and informational. Making the reader of any writing laugh or think will be the goal. By the end of the week, your little one will be so proud of their writing, you might need to buy some frames to showcase the author’s work!

This is a percussion camp for Middle School drummers. It will be a 1.5 day overnight camp with a maximum participation of 40 students. Classes will all be held in the rehearsal hall in the TAMIU Fine And Performing Arts Building. The only recreational activity planned is swimming.
