Bridge to Success
The mission is to identify graduating high school juniors or seniors with an interest in closing the gap between college and high school and to expand participation in college studies.
Founded in 1998 by psychology professor, Dr. Julio F. Madrigal, the Bridge to Success program is a ten-week, university-level academic and work experience program designed for high school graduates of the Class of 2005.
Seniors or Juniors from the graduating class of 2005 from Webb County are eligible for this program, and must visit the South Texas Workforce Center to confirm WIA eligibility. You must apply at the Texas Worforce Center located at 2389 East Saunders in Laredo, Texas.
BRIDGE TO SUCCESS receives financial and in-kind staff support from public sectors: South Texas and Middle Rio Grande Workforce Centers, universities and colleges, state governments, and local school districts.
This program will consist of two summer sessions in which the students enroll for a total of 12 semester credit hours. The courses selected by students will be based on SAT/THEA/ACT scores, and all courses will be basic or core.
