Continuing Education
Mission
The Office of Continuing Education supports the University's long-term goal of public service to the community as stated in the TAMIU Mission Statement.
"Through classroom instruction, faculty and student generated research and public service, Texas A&M International University serves as a strategic point of delivery for a variety of programs and services designed to improve the quality of life for citizens of the Border region and the State of Texas."
Conferences/Institutes/Seminars
Texas A&M International University's Office of Continuing Education provides assistance in facilitating, organizing, managing and/or evaluating local Conferences, Institutes, and Seminars. These events should:
- Facilitate the flow of information to increase the level of knowledge for the participants.
- Provide an environment where current and future issues can be addressed.
- Provide a targeted, measurable instruction that addresses the needs of the participants.
- Insure cost effectiveness.
Continuing Professional Education
The Continuing Education Center will facilitate training resources for the continuing education units of professional occupations that require licenses, certificates, and credentials. It will:
- Provide an environment that will facilitate networking not only within each professional association, but with the University community as well as the community at large.
- Serve as a link between Licensing Agencies and Organizations.
- Record, report, and store transcripts of participation for professional development courses to all required agencies.
- Provide continuous updates for educational opportunities which will improve the level of professional development in the Texas A&M International University community.
Enrichment Programs
The primary goal for Texas A&M International University's Continuing Education courses is knowledge and personal skills development. In an effort to provide enrichment programs for the University's community, the local and regional community, the Continuing Education Center will:
- Evaluate surveys, questionnaires and requests to insure that courses which provide enrichment opportunities for the community are made available.
- Recruit, recommend, and train qualified instructors.
- Provide evaluation of programs and instructors to insure quality.
- Offer non-traditional courses for individuals of all ages.
