EARTH AND PLANETARY SCIENCES (EPSC)

EPSC 1303 Introduction to Physical Geology. Three semester hours.

An introductory study of Earths composition, structure, and internal and external physical processes. Designed to fulfill laboratory science core curriculum requirements. Must be taken concurrently with EPSC 1103.

EPSC 1103 Introduction to Physical Geology Laboratory. One semester hour.

Laboratory course to accompany EPSC 1303. Must be taken concurrently with EPSC 1303. Laboratory fee: $15.00.

EPSC 1304 Introduction to Historical Geology. Three semester hours.

An integrated study of the geologic history of the Earth with a consideration of the development and history of life as documented by the fossil record. Designed to fulfill laboratory science core curriculum requirements. Must be taken concurrently with EPSC 1104.

EPSC 1104 Introduction to Historical Geology Laboratory. One semester hour.

Laboratory course to accompany EPSC 1304. Must be taken concurrently with EPSC 1304. Laboratory fee: $15.00.

EPSC 1305 Environmental Geology. Three semester hours.

An introductory study of Earths major resources, including the atmosphere, water, minerals, energy, and biological systems as they relate to the impact of urban development and environmental control. Designed to fulfill laboratory science core curriculum requirements. Must be taken concurrently with EPSC 1105. Carries no credit for a major or minor in Earth & Planetary Sciences.

EPSC 1105 Environmental Geology Laboratory. One semester hour.

Laboratory course to accompany EPSC 1305. Must be taken concurrently with EPSC 1305. Carries no credit for a major or minor in Earth & Planetary Sciences. Laboratory fee: $15.00.

EPSC 1370 Survey of Earth Science. Three semester hours.

A survey of the natural processes at work in the atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere of the Earth, as well as Earths place in the universe. Includes an introduction to astronomy, geology, oceanography, and meteorology. Designed to fulfill laboratory science core curriculum requirements. Must be taken concurrently with EPSC 1170.

EPSC 1170 Survey of Earth Science Laboratory. One semester hour.

Laboratory course to accompany EPSC 1370. Must be taken concurrently with EPSC 1370. Laboratory fee: $15.00.
