The GRE® General TestThe GRE General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills that are not related to any specific field of study. The test is composed of Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning and Analytical Writing sections. Typical testing times are listed below: General Test ContentThe skills measured on the GRE General Test include the test taker's ability to do the following: Verbal Reasoning
Quantitative Reasoning
Analytical Writing
IMPORTANT: The GRE® revised General Test is launching in 2011 — with significant revisions to the Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning measures. In the revised test, the Verbal Reasoning measure places a greater emphasis on higher-level cognitive skills, as a truer, deeper assessment of a test taker's ability to understand what they read and how they apply their reasoning skills. The Quantitative Reasoning measure emphasizes the data interpretation and real-life scenarios a test taker will encounter, to better gauge their skills. To learn more about the changes in the revised test, and what you can do to prepare, go to the GRE revised General Test section.
In addition, an unidentified Verbal Reasoning or Quantitative Reasoning section that does not count toward a score may be included. An identified research section that is not scored may also be included in the computer-based General Test. ***All classes are subject to cancellation if there is insufficient number of attendees. ***For additional information contact: OFFICE OF CONTINUING EDUCATION 5201 University Boulevard, Pellegrino Hall 302C Laredo, TX 78041 Tel. 956.326.2765 — Fax 956.326.2909 E-mail:Kimberly Martin del Campo Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. |
