TEXAS FOLKLIFE FESTIVALFor the past 8 years the Division of International Programs has been providing cross-cultural experiences to the TAMIU family by providing opportunities to participate in cultural interactive events. One of these events is known as Texas Folklife Festival which is hosted by The University of Texas Institute of Texan Cultures at San Antonio.
Here at the Department of International Student Services (ISS), we believe that Texas is saturated with a diverse group of cultures and ethnicities and we believe in creating awareness and educating students about the uniqueness of each culture. Our goal is to create understanding, acceptance, and even intrigue to learn more about cultures different than our own. ISS coordinates annual trips to the Texas Folklife Festival for the TAMIU students and staff.
