HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Spring Break Collegiate Challenge

The spring Break Challenge is an opportunity for students to participate in the National Collegiate Challenge sponsored by Habitat for Humanity (HFH).   HFH’s year-round alternative break program provides opportunities for students to spend a week of their school break building a house in partnership with a Habitat for Humanity affiliate in the United States.

A Collegiate Challenge experience may be the best school break you will ever have. Not only do you help people in need — it’s also fun and educational. You’ll have the chance to improve your understanding of the western culture and make a real difference in Habitat for Humanity’s work of eliminating substandard housing.

A typical Collegiate Challenge week in Laredo begins with check-in and orientation on Sunday late afternoon and reporting to the work site Monday through Thursday from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on these days. There are planned evening activities for dinner on Tuesday and a cookout on Thursday with a celebration for the weeks accomplishments. The other evenings are free to use as the groups desires.
