Thank you for your interest in being matched with a TAMIU International Student Mentor.  Before you complete and submit the application below, here are some of the program details.

Schedule Fall 2012

Notes:

AIS – Association of International Students

Sign-up for errand trips at Student Affairs (Student Center 226)

Errand trips will take you to locations such as supermarkets, banks, electronic stores, etc. depending on student needs

Meeting point is the SC Rotunda main entrance (under globe) 5 minutes prior to departure.

The New Student Orientations are mandatory events (22 and 23 August)

This calendar will be updated as new events get added

What are the responsibilities of an International Student Mentor?

Maintain personal communication via email/social networking with you prior to arrival

Support you during arrival and first three weeks at TAMIU

Participate in international student orientation and welcome events

What are your responsibilities?

Complete the mentee application in order to be considered

Be responsive to mentor emails and provide details about arrival and activities participation

Be patient and open-minded towards your mentor(s)

Communicate any concerns in a respectful and constructive manner
