Study Abroad:
Let your student discover the world!
Study Abroad is a discovery process of foreign
language and academics, countries and cultures,
but most importantly, their own discovery! It is our
hope that your student will participate in a program
that will educate and enrich their life for many
years to come.
Student-Right-To-Know/Campus Security Act - You have the right to know about campus crime statistics,
security resources and rules and regulations. Copies of this annual report are available online
(http://
www.tamiu.edu/clery.pdf)
and may be printed from the Web site in PDF format or requested from
the following offices: University Police Department, Office of Student Affairs, or the Office of Human
Resources.
Police Department:
Provides the TAMIU community with a safe and
secure learning and working environment by providing the highest quality
police services, which include prompt response, availability of officers,
informational and instructional services.
DustyALRT:
Student safety at TAMIU is first and foremost. To that end, the University asks that
all students sign up for our free emergency notification system, DustyALRT, which delivers
emergency messages to students’ cell phone or e-mail accounts. A DustyALRT can tell your
child if access to the campus is limited, an emergency exists on campus or if classes have
been cancelled. For more information, or to register visit:

Is an access tool that provides enrolled students
with a variety of on-campus services. The OneCard is also used
to activate a campus Meal Plan and can maintain a declining
balance that’s easily reloaded online by students or parents.
OneCard holders can view all their card transactions and access
other card features via the Cardholder Account Access
Website, available 24 hours/seven days a week.
Special Health Alert:
As of Jan. 1, 2012, first-time students, including transfer students
(under age 30), entering TAMIU must submit evidence of having been vaccinated
against Bacterial Meningitis at least 10 days prior to the first day of the semester. For more
