Graduate certificates are designed to support additional expertise or further develop expertise gained in a degree program. Browse through our College of Education certificates below to discover their admission requirements.
 
Educational Diagnostics Professional Certificate

  • Master’s degree required
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA (Last 60 Hours)
  • Personal Statement: Minimum 300-word essay describing career goals, aspirations, and timetable for completion of your certificate
  • Texas Educator Certificate
  • Service Record (Detailing 3 years of acceptable experience with 1 in Special Education) 
  • Screening Instrument (Must be submitted within 30 days of admission)
  • College of Education application
  • Code of Ethics form
  • FERPA form

Principal Professional Certificate

School Counselor Professional Certificate

  • Master’s degree required
  • 3.00 GPA (Last 60 Hours)
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation (1 Professional, 1 Personal, & 1 Nomination from a current professional school counselor)
  • Resume
  • Personal Statement: Minimum 700-word essay detailing your career goals, aspirations, and interest in the program.
  • Texas Educator Certificate
  • Service Record (Detailing 2 years of acceptable experience)
  • Interview
  • College of Education application
  • Code of Ethics form
  • FERPA form

Superintendent Professional Certificate

Master Reading Teacher Certificate or Reading Specialist Certificate

  • Official University/College Transcripts
  • Minimum 3.00 undergraduate GPA (GPAs of 2.5 - 2.9 will be sent for review)
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation (2 Professional & 1 Academic)
  • Personal Statement: Minimum 300-word essay describing career goals, aspirations, and timetable for completion of your certificate
  • Screening Instrument (Must be submitted within 30 days of admission)
  • College of Education application
  • Code of Ethics form
  • FERPA form

Students that are graduates of institutions outside of the United States must also have the following TOEFL scores per section for entrance into these Education certificates:

    • Speaking: 24
    • Listening: 22
    • Reading: 22
    • Writing: 21
