I. Conflict of Interest

What is a conflict of interst?  A conflict of interest occurs when an individual’s private interests compete with his/her professional obligations to the system to a degree that an independent observer might reasonably question whether the individual's professional actions or decisions are determined by considerations of personal gain, financial or otherwise.
