TAMIU Intramural Grants  

For all of the TAMIU grants, the full proposal must be submitted by electronic copy to grants@tamiu.edu in Microsoft Word and one (1) unbound hard copy of the proposal delivered to the Office of Grant Resources (KL 332) by 5:00 PM on November 1, 2010.  Both documents must be received by 5:00 P.M. on the deadline date to be considered submitted in time.  No exceptions!

 

University Research Development Award (URDA, 2011-2013) - Synopsis:  This program aims to support research projects that have strong theoretical reasons, empirical support, and practical reasons to justify the development and/or evaluation of the proposed project.  This program is designed to fund projects that require either longer than 1 year and/or require more funding than a standard University Research Grant to complete the project.  Preference is given to individuals collecting preliminary data for an external grant submission, as the ultimate goal of this program is for the applicant(s) to secure external funding for his or her research.

University Creative Projects Grant (UCPG, 2011-2012) - Synopsis:  This program is for applicants in disciplines that are traditionally not funded by the federal government.  Resources are provided for pursuit of a creative project with artistic merit that will make a significant and relevant contribution to the aesthetic experiences necessary for that faculty member to teach his or her courses.

 

University Travel Grant (UTG, 2010-2011) - Synopsis:  This program primarily aims to support faculty travel to either present research results or to attend conferences.

Private Funding

The Office of Grant Resources provides technical assistance in submitting all TAMIU research applications to private sponsors. However, if your application to a private sponsor is not research related, for assistance in submitting, please contact Veronica (Ronnie) Gonzalez, Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations, in the office of the VP for Institutional Advancement at ronnie@tamiu.edu or by phone at 326-2171.

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is focused on addressing health issues from childhood obesity investing in preparing health care professionals to serving vulnerable populations and awards research and evaluation projects an all of its program areas. www.rwjf.org

William T. Grant Foundation supports research to improve the lives of young people and grants are awarded "primarily for high-quality empirical studies." wtgrantfoundation.org

The Charles A. and Anne Morrow Lindbergh Foundation focuses on the " balance between technology and nature" and awards research and public education projects that work toward that balance. lindberghfoundation.org
