The incoming students often fear of getting lost in a new campus.This provides the description of campus at-a-glance.TAMIU is a fairly new institution and is growing every year.It has a beautiful campus stretching over 250 acres of land.It has a priviledge of not only providing higher education, but also offering day-to-day coexistence with a variety of wildlife that claim the surrounding brush land as home. At a time, fifty deer can be spotted together. Other commonly seen animals are javelinas and rabbits.

The campus has a congenial and safe ambience. With a population of over three thousand students(which is increasing every year), the crime statistics are far below other university average. Students of different races and cultures can be seen interacting comfortably. Various cultural events are held on campus like the Mariachi Festival, The Dance Festival and so forth.

The campus has eight bulidings- The Killam Library(KL), The Student Development Center, The Canseco Hall(CH), The Cowart Hall(C), The Pellegrino Hall(PH), the Kinesiology Building, The Western Hemispheric Trade Center(WHTC), and the Bob Bullock Hall.

The Killam Library has one section for the library and one section for administrative purposes. The libarary has over 200,000 volumes of book collection and over 11000 ebooks, apart from the numerous journals and magazines. It is still growing.

The Student Development Center was constructed recently. It is a massive building with student lounges and study rooms. It has a recreation center with facilities for playing pool, watching TV and playing games. It also has a Barnes and Noble Book Store and a dining area(Aramark) filled with vibrant colors. There is an auditorium and a ballroom which can accomodate five hundred people at a time.

The Cowart Hall(commonly called the 'C' building) has computer labs, and Child Care Center. The labs are well equipped with the latest computers and fast internet connection.

The Pelligrino Hall(PH) and The Bob Bullock Hall(BH) have spacious class rooms all equipped with audio-visual equipment. The College of Business Administration(COBA) operates at PH.The Canseco Hall has the College of Nursing.

The WHTC is a 55,000 square feet facility.It is a center of excellence for research information on trade, opening doors to the Western Hemisphere.It houses latest classroom spaces and public conference rooms, and features distance education and multi-media capabilities.

The Kinesiology Building has a well-equipped gym. The University also provides free aerobics classes for the students. It has a massive auditorium where dance programs and graduation ceremonies are held.

The Fine Arts Building is the latest addition to the campus. It is under construction and is expected to be open for Fall2003.The building will be used for music and entertainment purposes.
