Texas A&M International University will shine in the national spotlight this weekend when the University is featured during the 53rd Presidential Inaugural Gala Television Special scheduled to air on CBS Sunday, January 19 at 8:00 p.m.
During the program, students wearing sweatshirts featuring logos of the country's top universities will parade across the screen. Texas A&M International University will be represented in the event with a design that reads "TAMIU Laredo."
The University was selected as a featured participant by the corporate office of Follett College Stores, the managing company of A&M International's Bookstore. Follett College Stores and Smith-Hemion Productions are sponsoring the Special.
"It gives me great pleasure to see Texas A&M International University and the City of Laredo represented in a nationally broadcast event sponsored by our Bookstore," said Follett manager Daniel Rodriguez.
