TAMIU Employees Honored For Years of Service

Twenty-nine Texas A&M International University employees were recently recognized for their years of service to TAMIU. Staff members who have been with the institution for five, 10, 15, and 25 years were honored during the University's Employee Christmas Banquet.

Employees recognized for completing Five Years of Service include: Margarita B. Chavez, Assistant Director of the Office of Admissions; Dr. Henry Crowson, Associate Professor of Mathematics; Baldomero G. Garcia Jr., Associate Director of the Office for the Study of US-Mexico Trade Relations and NAFTA Center; Anna D. Garza, Library Assistant; Dr. Alain D. Genestre, Assistant Professor of Marketing; Maribelle Gonzalez, Office of Admission Staff Assistant; Dr. Muhummad M. Islam, Associate Professor of Economics; Dr. Kurt R. Jesswein, Associate Professor of International Banking; Bernadette L. Lafleur, Adjunct Faculty; Maria I. Lopez, Graduate Admissions Counselor; Martha M. Lozano, Library Clerk; Dr. Nasser Momayezi, Associate Professor of Political Science and Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice, History, and Political Science;Blanca A. Montemayor, Financial Aid Loan Counselor; Susana C. Moreno, Executive Secretary to the Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities; Melissa Padilla, Assistant Business Manager; Amelia V. Rodriguez, Library Clerk; Anabel G. Rodriguez, Office of Admissions Staff Assistant; Dr. Cathy G. Sakta, Associate Professor of Education and Chair of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction; Ricardo Tijerina, Computer and Telecommunications Network Services Manager; Sandra E. Villanueva, Human Resources Employment Specialist.

Employees Completing 10 Years of Service include Gregorio Lopez Jr., Duplicating Supervisor, and Sara A. Vallarta, Accounting Assistant.

Completing 15 Years of Service were Dr. Norma E. Cantu, Professor of English, and Dr. Rosa Maria R. Vida, Professor of Educational Administration and Chair of Professional Programs.

Employees who have been with the institution since it was founded and completed 25 Years of Service include: Dr. Stanley Green, Professor of History; Dr. Rafael Lecuona, Professor of Political Science; Maria G. Mosqueda, Supervisor for Academic Advisement; Dr. Alfredo Supervielle, Associate Professor of Spanish; and David VerMilyea, Director of Student Development.
