TAMIU Folklórico Festival Coming Jan. 25

TAMIU’s Annual Folklórico
Festival Set Friday at 7 p.m.

Get your tickets now for the annual Texas A&M International University Folklórico Festival Friday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at TAMIU’s Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.

Tickets are $10 and available at the department of fine and performing arts, CFPA 217. Tickets will also be available at the door.

The performance is part of a weekend series of workshops hosted by the TAMIU Ballet Folklórico for dance teachers and students from Laredo, across the state and México. Proceeds help the University students fund travel, purchase costumes and provide student scholarships.

Folklórico groups will receive dance instruction by noted dance instructors Ambar González Lomas from Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, México, Perla Diaz García, local dance instructor, and Sandra Leal, TAMIU Ballet Folklórico director.

Workshops will be held Saturday, Jan. 26 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 28 from 9 a.m. - 1p.m.
