México’s Transportation Infrastructure Plans
Topic of IBC Speaker Series at TAMIU

An expert on transactions related to infrastructure projects and project finance will discuss “México’s Transportation Infrastructure Plans and Their Implications for the U.S.-México Border” at the Texas A&M International University A. R. Sánchez Jr. School of Business Center for the Study of Western Hemispheric Trade International Bank of Commerce 2008/2009 Keynote Speaker Series.

The first installment in this year’s series is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Western Hemispheric Trade Center Fernando A. Salinas Lecture Room (WHTC 111).

Ariel Ramos Marcín is a partner in the international law firm White & Case. He primarily focuses on transactions related to infrastructure projects and project finance including power, oil and gas, government procurement, public-private-partnerships, roads and maritime posts and terminals representing international financial institutions, multilateral institutions, international and Mexican developers, construction engineering and operation companies and agencies from the Mexican government.

Ramos is part of the legal team that represents the consortium formed by Goldman Sachs and Empresas ICA that was awarded the biggest Latin American infrastructure project in 2007.

Ramos graduated from Escuela Libre de Derecho with an attorney at law degree and he received his Master of Laws from The University of Texas School of Law.

The Series brings to the University individuals of exceptional accomplishment and expertise to enhance the academic experience of TAMIU students, faculty and the community.

The next installment in the series is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. with Todd Huizinga and “The U.S. and México: Strategic Partners at the Border and Beyond.”
