Local Attorney, Alum Sets
Book-Signing at TAMIU Oct. 25

Laredo attorney and Texas A&M International University alumnus Joseph Dickerson will present his new book, “The Road Map to Rich: A Lawyer’s Perspective on Getting and Staying Rich” (Ovation Books, May 2007) in a special reception and book-signing at TAMIU’s Student Center Rotunda, Thursday, Oct. 25  from 5:30-7 p.m.

Dickerson’s book offers a practical guide to wealth accomplished through smart business and financial decisions.

“I’ve found that you don’t have to be a genius to be rich…While most truly wealthy professionals make high incomes, it’s what they do with their money that makes and keeps them rich.”

A self-made millionaire, Dickerson made his first $1 million at the age of 34. He achieved financial success by taking advantage of overlooked opportunities and taking calculated risks.

Specifically, he invested in multiple real estate ventures and started several businesses, including his own law practice, all of which have produced greater than 100 percent return on his investment.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas State University (San Marcos), a master’s degree in international trade from TAMIU and a law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law.

In addition to his law practice, he has been an adjunct professor for TAMIU’s College of Business Administration. Dickerson frequently lectures on topics such as estate planning, business formation and wealth planning strategies. He and wife Adriana, have two children, Andrew and Patrick.

Copies of “The Road Map to Rich” will be available for sale at the reception.
