Los Caminos del Rio, created by the Texas Historical Commission, celebrates
a heritage corridor along the Lower Rio Grande of Texas and Mexico. The
corridor is from just above Laredo and Nuevo Laredo to the Gulf of Mexico.
Cultural treasures of Los Caminos include Laredo's San Agustín
Plaza, Our Lady of Refuge Church in San Ygnacio, and the Santa Gertrudis
Battlefield in Mexico, where Emperor Maximillian's forcers were defeated.
