10th Annual Dusty 5K Run/Walk Set October 30 at TAMIU
Local and area runners can help celebrate the 10th anniversary of Texas
A&M International University's Dusty 5K Run and Walk on Saturday,
Oct. 30.
Monies raised help support University student scholarships.
Entry fees prior to Oct. 27 deadline are as follows: professional runners,
$25; amateur runners, $20; 5K walkers, $10.
After Oct. 27, entry fees will be $35 for professional runners, $30
for amateur runners and $15 for 5K walkers.
Cash prizes will be awarded in the Professional Category for men and
women. First place is $500; second, $300 and third $200. Trophies will
be awarded to top three finishers in the amateur category. Certificates
will be provided to all walkers. All Dusty 5K Run and Walk participants
receive a TAMIU Dustdevil T-shirt.
This year's Run and Walk is sponsored by Constructors. TAMIU's Men's
Basketball Coach, Tarvish Felton, is helping to coordinate the Run/Walk.
Highlighting the event is a Health Fair presented by Laredo Medical
Center featuring body mass index and blood pressure screenings and information
on cancer awareness, rehabilitation and physical therapy, among others.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. on the lobby side of the Sue and Radcliffe
Killam Library. The event will begin at 8 a.m.
