Fall Dance Concert at TAMIU Friday Showcases Students

Students of Texas A&M International University's Department of Fine and Performing Arts will show off their talents at the 2004 Fall Dance Concert, Friday at 8 p.m. in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall. This event is open to the public and admission is $5 at the door. (photo)

Bede Leyendecker, assistant professor, said the evening will introduce the audience to various dance styles being taught at TAMIU, and demonstrate the abilities of the students.

The jazz and ballet classes, the Modern Performance Troupe, the Flamenco Troupe and the Concert Choreography class will all contribute to the program.

This semester's concert will also feature the choreographic works of ten university students. Jennifer Brewster, Adriana Canales, Alex Cardenas, Gabriela Chapa, Juan Pablo Flores, Ivette Ortega, Jackie Reyes, Monica Reyes, Cindy Rodriguez and Victor Soto will present dances in fulfillment of their requirements for the 'Concert Choreography' class.
