The Texas A&M International University Student Ambassadors, a student service organization, have elected officers for the 1998-99 academic year.
Newly elected officers are Gina De La Miyar, president; Clarissa Rangel, Vice President for Finance and Development; Gilbert Cardenas, Vice President for University Relations; Laura Lisa Gonzalez, Secretary; Maria Cortez, Treasurer; and Victor Villarreal, Parliamentarian.
Student Ambassadors provide an invaluable service to the University by representing the student perspective of campus life to prospective and new A&M International students. They also serve as a liaison between students and administrators, provide campus tours to visitors, participate in University recruitment events, and act as hosts for various campus functions.
To be eligible to join the Student Ambassadors, students must be enrolled at A&M International, be considered a student in good standing, maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average for undergraduates and 3.0 for graduates, and regularly attend Student Ambassador meetings and events.
