Second "Dusty" Fun Run, Walk Raises Scholarship Monies

120 runners and walkers helped to raise funds to support student scholarships and alumni activities at Texas A&M International University at the Second "Dusty" Fun Run and Walk Saturday morning on the University's campus.

The event included competitive 5 and 10K runs and a non-competitive 5K Walk.

A&M International president J. Charles Jennett welcomed participants to the course which began on University Boulevard and ended on the South Plaza of the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library.

Major sponsors for the event were Falcon National Bank, NBC Bank, International Bank of Commerce, Folletts Book Store and Mercy Regional Medical Center.

A health fair hosted by MRMC and pastry and refreshment bar added to the morning's activities.

Best Overall 5K Run time was 16.38 by Alex Mendoza.

Best Overall 10K Run time was 33.23 by Cesar Vasquez.
