‘Holiday Music Magic’ Opens at TAMIU LBV Planetarium Dec. 6

‘Holiday Music Magic’ Opens at
TAMIU Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium

Before the holiday rush wears you out, treat yourself to the new show, “Holiday Music Magic,” at the Texas A&M International University Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium. The show, keyed to holiday music, opens Saturday, Dec. 6 in an evening full of fun that includes a visit from Santa Claus and a performance by the United South Middle School Choir.

“ ‘Holiday Music Magic’ features a variety of festive classics from Mannheim Steamroller, Burl Ives and Brenda Lee. The soundtrack is visually enhanced with three 3-D artistic animation and all-dome scenery in the audiovisual setting of the Planetarium’s dome theatre,” said Gerardo A. Pérez, director, LBV Planetarium.

The United South Middle School Choir is scheduled to perform at 5:30 p.m. From 6 – 8 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to take their picture with Saint Nick for $2.

Also showing at LBV Planetarium is “Season of Light.”

“ ‘Season of Light’ is a show that visitors can enjoy not just once, but every year. I've seen this show countless times, and I am still moved by its message,” said Pérez.

General admission tickets are $5 and $4 for children and TAMIU students, faculty, staff and alumni. Season tickets are also available starting at $35.

Show schedule for Saturday, Dec. 6 is: “Season of Light” at 5 and 7 p.m. and “Holiday Music Magic” at 6 and 8 p.m.

The LBV Planetarium will be open Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 20, Monday, Dec. 22 (“Star Signs at 3 p.m. and “Holiday Music Magic” at 4 p.m.) and Tuesday, Dec. 23 (“Destination Saturn” at 1 p.m. and “Holiday Music Magic” at 2 p.m.).

The LBV Planetarium will be closed starting Wednesday, Dec. 24 and re-open Friday, Jan. 23.
