Texas A&M International University students who wish to participate in a paid internship program this summer are invited to apply for the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Internship Program.
The HACU National Internship Program is designed to give university students an opportunity to experience the diversity of careers in the federal and corporate sectors.
Paid internships in a variety of fields are available at federal agencies and corporations in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and in field sites throughout the country.
Interns receive round-trip airfare to the job site, stipends of $370 per week for sophomores and juniors, $410 per week for seniors, and $490 per week for graduate and law students, and assistance in locating housing.
A&M International students who are interested in applying for the HACU National Internship Program applicants must submit the following to the University's Office of Career Planning and Placement by Wednesday, February 25: a completed internship application, an updated official copy of transcript, a letter from the University Registrar stating class status, a letter of recommendation from a current instructor or advisor, a resume, and a one-page typed essay describing the applicant's reasons for applying, and the contributions he or she have can offer in terms of skills and experience.
Applicants must: be permanent residents or U.S. citizens, have completed freshman year of college before internship begins, have a minimum grade point average of 3.0, be a currently enrolled student, and be available to participate in the 10-week internship program, which runs from May 29 - August 7.
