Black History Month Continues at TAMIU

Texas A&M International University continues to present several events throughout February in observance of Black History Month.

The public is invited to attend numerous presentations, lectures and discussions designed to focus on the endeavors of African-Americans.

The events are free and open to the public.

The TAMIU Black History Month schedule of activities includes:

All month: The Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library has mounted an exhibit by library clerk Alejandra Puente and a display in the College of Arts and Sciences Art corridor (Killam Third Floor) celebrating the achievements of African-Americans.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 17 - Panel "Black Professionals in Laredo" at 12 p.m. in the Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 103.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 24 -Dr. Michael Yoder, associate professor of geography, Dr. Kevin Lindberg, assistant professor of English, and Laredo teacher Rick Cortez will present "Jazz in Laredo" at 12 p.m. in the Student Center Rotunda.

All events are subject to change and additional events may be scheduled.
