Wellness Fair at TAMIU Set for Feb. 25
Texas A&M International University' Offices of Student Counseling
Services and Student Health Services will host the Wellness Fair entitled
"Body Mind and Spirit" on Wednesday, Feb. 25 in the Student
Center.
Dr. Terence Hannigan, director of Student Counseling Services, explained
the fair will heighten student awareness about making healthier choices
and focus on sensible recreation - making good decisions about eating,
drinking, driving and sex.
Major events include:
12 p.m. - Jeff Charlebois, "sit-down" comedian, will bring
humor (an important aspect of wellness) to the lunch hour crowd. Student
Center Cafeteria.
1 to 4 p.m.:
On-site screening for diabetes, cholesterol, body fat percentage, blood
pressure, eating disorders, depression, alcoholism, anxiety and depression.
Brief shoulder and neck massages from a registered massage therapist.
Spirituality And Wellness Tables sponsored by Newman Club, Baptist Student
Ministers and Campus Crusade For Christ.
Texas Department of Transportation Driver Safety Table and try your
hand at fun sports activities. Student Center Plaza.
4 to 5 p.m. - "Low Carb or Low Fat, That is the Question"
