TAMIU Students Approve International Fee Increase
Texas A&M International University announced the passage of a $2
increase to its International Education Fee, which assists students participating
in TAMIU international student exchange or study abroad programs.
The passage of the increase, for which 103 students voted for, with
36 voting against, brought the total fee to $4 per person, regardless
of the number of credit hours. This amount is comparable to the fee charged
by almost all schools in The Texas A&M University System. The increase
will now go to the Board of Regents for approval.
Voting was held on two days, Tuesday, Jan. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 26.
The fee increase would take effect Fall 2005.
