University Will Phone Home Next Week
Alumni of Texas A&M International University and its forebears,
Laredo State University and Texas A&I University at Laredo, will be
getting a call from their alma mater next week.
The University is conducting its "All 4 TAMIU Phonathon,"
part of its annual giving campaign that raises funds for student scholarships,
on Feb. 7, 8 and 9 from 5:45 - 8:45 p.m.
Current students, many of whom receive TAMIU scholarships, will be making
the calls to former students, explained Patty Canseco, TAMIU director
of alumni relations.
"Our student volunteers will be calling former students with the
hope of encouraging participation in the 'All 4 TAMIU Campaign.' Over
80% of our students benefit from our scholarship program and we are eager
to help more students. At the same time, the alumni we contact can update
their files to help them keep in touch with their university," Canseco
explained.
Persons needing more information or who are interested in volunteering
for the "All 4 TAMIU Phonathon" can contact Canseco at 326.2175.
University office hours are from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Journalists who need additional information or help with media requests
and interviews should contact the Office of Public Affairs and Information
